Kundalini Yoga is known as the yoga of awareness and is a true Raj yoga. It incorporates many aspects of the yoga tradition - hatha (asana or postures), meditation, mantra (internal and chanting), pranayama (breath concentration) and yogic lifestyle.

The kundalini is said to be the dormant energy that awaits awakening at the base of our spine. Through the kriyas Yogi Bhajan has taught this energy can be stimulated in a conscious manner to create deep inner awareness. The asanas, pranayama, meditation, mantras and mudras he has taught work to strengthen and build our physical, mental, emotional and auric bodies so we can be the aware beings we were meant to be and fulfill our deepest potential.

Many people have experienced a Kundalini Yoga class as "that's the class where you do all the breathing." In Kundalini Yoga there is more than Ujai breath, you will also experience, Long deep breathing, breath of fire, snake breath, lion's breath and more. Conscious breath in asana and meditation can move the consciousness into awareness with greater speed than asana alone.
